Eric has provided buy- and sell-side transaction advisory services to private equity groups and strategic acquirers on hundreds of transactions across multiple industries. During his tenure at RSM, he has primarily focused on the firm’s larger private equity clients, which are focused on investments in the industrial products and services, consumer products and services, and other business and technological related services.
Previously, Eric provided transaction advisory services at a Big Four firm, where he advised clients on numerous unique projects, ranging from a $50 million minority investment to a $17 billion leveraged buyout. The majority of these clients represented some of the largest private equity groups in the world. His clients were focused on investments in multiple industries including, but not limited to, technology and technology-related services, industrial products and services, consumer products and services, energy and energy-related services, real estate, and health care-related investments.
Prior to transaction services, Eric provided audit services to some of the largest clients, of a Big Four firm, including many Fortune 500 companies, and served almost three years in the firm’s national office.
Eric’s areas of expertise involve all areas of financial due diligence surrounding mergers and acquisitions, including:
• Assessing the target's earnings and cash flow quality
• Analyzing the quality of assets and liabilities being acquired or assumed
• Evaluating the quality of working capital and recent trends, including purchase price mechanisms
• Identifying internal control weaknesses of systems and personnel
• Providing additional insights and assistance related to the target's (i) financial projection analyses; (ii) integration; and (iii) potential post-transaction synergies
• Reviewing and providing insight on the purchase agreement and related definitions
